Default Has anyone replaced......

Has anyone replaced their idle air control valve. I would like to know what your car was behaving like before it was replaced to compare to what my car is doing, I also had a previous post (please help can't start) with lots of info on the problem I am having if info is needed.

I replaced that and the TPS, it would randomly not start for like 5 mins at a time and the idle would stay at 2-3k rpms. I'm not sure if it was both or just one of the things I replaced that fixed but it fixed the issue I was having.

thanks for the reply it gives me confidence that what my camaro is doing is the same as yours so it should be a similar fix. I get the part tomorrow so I will post results as a reply.

I would have just borrowed one from a buddy for like 10min and tried that 1st. It's an very easy swap. That way you wouldn't be out any money if it didn't work. Hope it works for ya.

Mine didn't fix right away. I had to let it run and drive it like 20-30 mins with the new stuff before the issue went away. It seemed like the computer had to re-learn some stuff I guess.

thanks for the input, I replaced the idle air control valve and the bank 1 sensor 1 O2 sensor. The car started and I drove it around for like 30 minutes doing some highway and street driving. The problem isn't fully gone though because when I am driving and keeping consistant speed the car engine still sounds like its going in and out from having power. Also at low speeds around 30 - 35 the engine will also seem to be losing power and I give it gas and it will take a second then come back to full power. Not sure but I am going to do a full throttle body cleaning tonight and fuel injectors. I also bought and added a can of sea foam system cleaner to the gas so that might help.

Get a maf cleaner and clean it as well as replace the inline fuel filter. Both cheap and good insurance.
