Default Cam condition and install Question

This is probably a easy question to answer, but I have heard many different things so I want to get some advice from you guys. I purchased a used MS4 cam and it appears to be in good shape. There are marks on the lobes from the lifters, but no pitting what so ever. The cam has been checked and all specs check out, but my concern is the marks on the lob. The cam was used for under 3K and taken out and you can see where the lifters ran. Is the cam still usable and if so is it safe to use my stock lifters or new lifters since I do not have the old ones? Thanks for your help.

Roller lifters are not supposed to leave any wear marks on a cam. I would be leary of that deal.

There are no grooves on the lobes, just visual marks where the lifters were. I can run my fingernail across the lobes and there is nothing that grabs.

You should be fine. Every cam i've seen has the roller marks just like you described. Search for some used cam pics on here and you'll see the same.

You're stock lifters should be fine as well. If they had super high miles I would replace them. Since they'll be worked harder with stiffer springs and faster lobes. Then again i've seen 130k+ motors get big cams thrown in without issue.

That's right, my factory cam had these marks and cams under 10K I have seen have these marks as well. Its perfectly normal.
