Default misfire upon throttle

gents,
have an 02 WS6 with numerous upgrades, but my car is starting to lag a bit. when i put it to the floor there is a brief pause, and it jerks and stutters like a few of the cylinders are misfiring. after a second it acts fine and continues through the power band with no problems. posibilities? i am thinking plugs could be bad, but someone said a bad cam sensor in another post, so it might also be that. anything else you guys can think of? i am currently in afgahnistan and wont be back to the states for a couple of months, but when i get back i want her to run like she should so i am getting a jump on it out here. it starts doing it at around 3000 rpms (if i remember correctly, been a few months) but regardless i need to try and get some advice so that i know where to start when i get home.
