Default 'ChevyNo1' just pulled 575 / 624 with stock bottom

'ChevyNo1' (Dug) posted this over in the Forced Induction forum, but I thought I would post it here to let you folks know how much these LS1s can handle as long as there not spun too fast.

I went with 'ChevyNo1' to the dydo yesterday. He pulled 574 rwhp and 624 ftlb torque with his twin turbo 98 Camaro SS. This dyno session included at least 7 pulls as they were tweeking the timing, fuel tables and water/alchohol injection system.

This was on a car that has a bone stock 5.7L LS1 motor assembly (to include stock 40,000 mile valve springs).

Just goes to show you how much power these engines can handle as long as there not rev'd too high. He don't go above 6,000.

My opinion, but the bottom line is: Don't detonate the engine and keep the revs below maybe 6,400 - 6,500 max and these engines will take massive HP without damage (in most cases)

Ron,
