Default loud squeeling help

I just installed a new never run ls6 into my s10 i run it for 10 min then changed the oil today was the first time i had it on the road it did ok for a little while now its making a loud squeeling noise even when i remove the belt could it be a bad cam bearing no nocking whatsoever sounds like a loose fan belt or something

It isn't the tires being roasted at all times is it? Just kidding. You best bet is to use a long screw driver and see if you can pinpoint the noise and where it is coming from.

yea it will get a little squirrly in second but i feel 90% its a cam bearing spun so gonna start disecting the truck tomorrow it is one more pain in the a$$ to get the engine out fenders and inners then jack the cab up to get it all out it if I didn't have bad luck I wouldn't have any luck

ok got the engine apart its not a spun bearing but looks like a little gaulding on the front bearing camshaft looks fine what do you think ?

That bearing looks great! I have seen some with the brass showing and they still work fine! I would look elsewhere. Are you sure it wasn't something like a small vacuum leak wistling, or maybe something in the tranny?

well not real sure it just sounded like a spun cam bearing or like a fan belt slipping removed the serp belt and noise still there sounded like it was in the front of the engine it did sound like metal to metal

That cam bearing lookes worn to me..worn evenly. is there a difference between the lip and the body of the bearing?

Do you have a magnetic drain plug? metal shaving?
