Cool Polluter cam install need help!

I've been using ls1 howto.com for this install. Now Im at the part whereyou install the cam. Now I've looked at other write ups to where they zero out the cam using this gauge wheel marked with several degrees. Is this necessary or cani just slide in the cam and be good? Also when torqing down the rocker arms do I follow the ls1howto or is their a certain sequence in torqing those down? Any help ingetting this done is greatly appreciated. Oh yea it's on a 2000 ss Camaro m6

You can just install it straight up (dot to dot). That's how probably 90+% of the world installs cams. Degreeing is more or less just to verify that the cam is what it's supposed to be. If you're cam came with actual measurements from a cam doctor or something similar then that's all you'd need to know.

I always torque rockers from the center out, but it doesn't matter.

x2

Dot to dot with the cam.

With the rockers, I like the idea of going from the center out. But, I also make an extra pass to double check the ft/lbs when the piston is a TDC for each cylinder (valve completely closed). Only takes an extra 5 minutes.

If I'm reading that correctly, it looks like they want you to do what I mentioned above - torque down the rockers when the valve is fully closed.

Sounds like a good idea. I've done two cam swaps this week and on both of them I made a 22ft-lbs pass, spun the motor over a few times then made a 23ft-lbs pass.
