Cutting a stock crank?

Hey guys just wondering how far you can cut the rod journals on a stock ls1 crank!?!?! Looks like from the mic im gonna have to go 30 under to get it smooth is this ok?

I had to turn my rod side .030 to clean it up. You will be just fine, just don't go asking for a .030 over bearing from clevite for an LS1. Just ask for a standard tree-fiddy chevy bearing

old school 350's are the same width? nice and did you get all your rod side cut or just the one

Get the bearings, put them in, torque the bolts/studs, measure the I.D., calculate journal O.D. to get the bearing clearance you want.

BTW, I think it's a 663H-30 bearing.
