Not another cam thread ! Little different..
I should be buying the cam for my project soon, and would like some input, first some information :
Car - 93 nissan 240sx, should weigh in under 3000 lbs with me in it
Engine 02' LQ9 longblock, LS6 intake manifold
Transmission - GTO T56
Rear gear 3.54:1
Exhaust will consist of 1.75" unequal length, midlength? headers, 3" magnaflow spun cats, 3" bullet mufflers, then dual 3" to single 3.5" Y pipe, under axle and into 3.75" inlet/4.5" outlet canister muffler at rear.
I would really like it to end up as sleeper-ish as possible, the car will also see a 100-150 shot of N2O, thus all of my selections are on a 114 lsa, i'd really like to not put something overly large and end up with lacking gas mileage, this will be my daily driver, I was also thinking of installing whatever I get a 0* or a little bit retarded to shift the power up top a bit, since traction is going to be a bit of an issue, and I doubt i'll severely be upset if i'm short a litle bottom end torque.
With this being said, here are most of my current possibilitys and a couple comments on them, input would be appreciated, as well as other similar cams I may have missed. I would "like" to see 400+ to the tires, however if this doesnt happen its not going to ruin my day, the sneaky idle and gas mileage are a little more of a concern as the bottle will take care of whatever i'm short in the end

TR "Split Pattern" - 224/227 .563/.569 114 LSA <-- the smallest in the list, kinda dont want to get this and wish I had gone bigger.
FMS F11 228"/230" .576"/.595" 114LSA - aggressive profile with a 2200-6600 RPM range, fair idle
FMS F6 226"/230" .575"/.595" 114LSA - semi-aggressive profile with a 2000-6800 RPM range, fair idle
TSP 233/239 .595"/.603" - 114 LSA 1900-6500 RPM Power Band;
This is an excellent performance camshaft with a smooth idle!
Bigger than most of the others with a
smaller powerband ? Kinda really like to get this, however dont want to end up lacking on the MPG thing, and not sure how truely smooth the idle will be, maybe pretty good with the extra displacement of my 6.0 vs an LS1 ?
Texas Speed Torquer 2 232/234 .595/.598 Camshaft 1800-6400 RPM Power Band;
This is an excellent performance camshaft with a smooth idle!
LG G5x1 228/232 Duration & 588/574 Lift at 114 Lobe Seperation. <-- I'd just go with this, however the extra
$125 LG motorsports nametag doesnt look very enticing, though the results i've seen from it look pretty good.
Vengeance VRX3 226/228 .585/.588 114 LSA. Our most popular Street Camshaft. 1700-6700 Power Band.
Excellent Street Manners. Lots of "Power Under the Curve". Choppy idle. <-- "choppy idle turning me away a little bit"
For the sleeper, I'd go with either our TSP 224R or 228R. You can tune either to have none or very little lope at idle and make it very stealthy! Both are proven to make substantial gains at peak, without sacrificing your bottom end and mid-range torque that you need and want for a daily/street driver! The 228R has been over 400rwhp with similar mods to yours many times

Hope that helps!
