Default Few Questions.

I hope I don't get flamed much, but I've searched and haven't found much...

Question one, what is the 5.3 rod length, and question 2, stock 802 LS1 heads, will they fit on a 5.3 bore? I've read that 6.0 LQ9's don't due to bore size but do LS1 heads fit?

Thanks alot guys, sorry to be pesky on questions.

5.3 rod length is the same as an LS1 - 6.098". There is no 802 casting LS1 head, but in most cases you are better of with the 5.3 head anyway. Unless you are trying to lower the compression ratio to less than 9:1 for some serious forced induction.

As already mentioned, rod length is the same, it's the 4.8 that has the different rod length.

Second, LQ4/LQ9 (317) heads should fit just fine. The 5.3L bore is just enough to fit the 2.00" valve, found in almost any Gen III head, without too much shrouding, but it certainly won't fit the L92/LS3 2.165" valve. So yes, LS1 853 and 241 heads should fit just fine as well.
