The biggest advantage to dropping out the bottom is that you can leave everything on the engine. Remember it was designed to be done this way. The wiring, sensors, headers or manifolds, starter, ac compressor, and power steering pump all stay will it. It is so much easier to take off stuff once the whole unit is out of the car. I am sure you can get the einge out the top just fine but it would not be easier, no way.

honestly, dropping it out the bottom was so easy, that ide consider doing it for a header install.....
