Question 5.3l engine piston re ring? yes/no.. help.....

well i have blow by the rings,i know some is normal but i rather be safe then sorry, my question is can i just re ring the pistons with new stock rings and de glaze the bores and be done with it? ive heard that on the 99-00 blocks they had alot of piston slap and was told my best bet is just to bore it out.
trying to keep cost down so shoot me some help...
thanks

how many miles?
depends on the cylinder walls. if was me i would just rebuild the engine with new bearings and parts. and overbore. cheepest and quickest, find a low miles drop in engine.

they said it had 50k probably been sitting for a while though... i bought it for 500 and then found out it had low compression so i sent the head out, now the heads have 150 set presure.. but the rings had some blow and i dont want to put the heads on and take the chance, then have to buy head bolts and gasket again because compresion was low.

am just stuck it thinking mode...
i think ill be good but theres just that what if.
