Default Done a LQ swap?? Answer this!!!!!!!!

Putting a '03 lq4 in my 01 t/a. Do I need to use the 6.0 oil pressure sending unit? Or the ls1? I currently have the 6.0 unit installed, just dropped the motor in tonight. I was hooking up the cam sensor, and the oil sensor before putting the intake on. I cant seem to plug my harness onto the 6.0 unit. Is this right? I was told to use the 6.0 oil pressure sending unit. It was late, and I got tired and abandoned it until next time. The only round connector on my harness doesnt seem like it wants to plug on it, seems a tad too large. Thanks all. Oh, and I am running all my ls accessories, intake etc

The sensors should be the same. I did swap all mine off my LS1 since they were all newer and I knew they were working good.

I think the LS1 connector is bigger and oval, and the LQ4 connector is smaller and round.

Mine arent. The ls if physically taller. I was gonna take the same route as you, and swap all mine over since I too knew they were all in good working order. The only one different is the oil press sensor. At one point I even went to the auto parts site just to see, and all the sensors are the same, except the oil pressure.

EXACTLY. I tried plugging it in to no avail. I was curious to see if others were using the ls sensor, or the lq. Or if others were even going as far as getting a lq oil press pigtail, and splicing it in to the ls harness, which I would rather not do

I think somewhere along the way they changed the style of connectors. How many pins in your harness connector?? How many pins in the 6L's sender?? Just take the sender out of your old motor and put it in the 6L.

LOL, or throw it all away cuz its good for nothing anyways, and put an Autometer sender and gauge in and have a real indication.

I just did a parts look up and in 2002 they were the same. 2003 is a different part number. So as the last poster said use the one from your old motor.

You should use all connections from the WS6, discard any LQ4 things. LS1 plugs, sensors and connectors will all fit on the LQ4 at LS1 locations.
You'll find that alternator from LS1 will have 1 bolt hole missing in LQ block (unless you drilled and threaded one). You can run yours on the existing holes without having to do a 3rd one.

yeah the sensor I had on from the 6.0 was 2 pin sensor, the ls was 1 pin. I never looked until I already had the motor in.
