I got this cam used from another member. He said the cam was in good condition, and when I got it I found a flat spot on one of the lobes. The transition on and off the flat spot is very smooth, and there are no scratches that can be felt with a fingernail in this area.
I think this might be junk. What do you think?

First thing I gotta say is, nice eye man, good find.
Second thing is, that sucks major ***.
Third thing is, I wonder what would cause that to happen....maybe there was a piston that hit a valve and it transfered all that stress down and pushed the lifter into the lobe.
Fourth thing is, that sucks you the shaft (no pun intended) from a fellow member.
I dont think youd wanna use that cam. I dont think I would.

Seller responded and is willing to work something out. Mistakes happen and he did not see this damaged area.
I got this for 50 percent of the new price, so I thought I would try it. I'm thinking I should just spring for new cam, or at least a used one locally that I can inspect before I purchase.
