Default Mahle Pistons in a stock motor??

Ran across something odd today, picked up one of my old stock rods/pistons and seen that it had Mahle stamped in the inside of the piston.. anyone know that the factory pistons are Mahle?? They dont have the waffle design that most cast pistons have either, they are smooth underneath.. thought that was only in forged, or is it on the hyper pistons too?? thought i would share as i picked up another rod/piston combo out of another ls1 and it said Mahle in it too.. thoughts??
