72 vega 5.3 advice needed Cam and gear recommendations for my project?

Carbed 5.3

8" rear
daily driven
Would like some lope, but its not a must
I do frequent out of state swap meet/junk yard runs-(pomona, ca), so decent gas mileage would be nice as well

Just for a daily driver? With the LOW weight you are dealing with I think almost any cam would be a monster in that thing and high gearing for gas mileage will not be such an issue as with a heavier car. I am kinda jelous. What is an 8" rear, as in a 10 bolt?
