Default Built Engine & Emissions

ok, i'm going with an ATI D1SC on the stock 346 short block. I know this is eventually going to fail...

So after that happens, i'll look at building a forged 346/383 type motor.

My question is...can i simply throw in a built motor, using all of the stock emissions equipment and pass with no problems? (the cam will be fairly mild, and it'll have 6.0l heads).

what if i went with a 383?

Not going through emissions is unfortunately not an option.

Any help will be appreciated!
Thanks,
Mike

The cam really determines emissions more than anything else, built motor or stock. With a good custom pcm tune and a 224 or smaller cam you will be fine for passing emissions with any built or stock motor.

cool, thanks...hopefully the stock short block will last a little while, I don't plan on running that much boost to begin with.
