Probably a little. If the gap is too small the spark duration will be too small as well, giving less ignition exposure. Higher HP or boosted cars, etc. That would be a good gap for a better precision spark and to avoid high rpm detonation, but for this car it's a bit too narrow. It certainly won't speak for the huge difference in times he's talking about, but a slightly larger gap would be more optimal and may even cure some of the sluggishness under normal acceleration.

Something is not right beyond the plugs though. I would recommend increasing the gap though next time they are pulled.

Can you imagine how much faster you would be if you used some of those E3 plugs? Horsepower TV says they work!!!

Hey Cliff, I have to call
Greg and I watched it run 10.59 both mornings and I know you aren't lying. My question is if it did have a dead hole or bad plug or was misfiring wouldn't it at least throw a p0300... code? BTW I was nice to meet you and the Mrs. tell her we said hey.

I hear you Mike. Yes it should throw a code for misfire if it is a dead miss. It may not catch it if it is intermittent or inconsistently firing as I do have misfire detection desensitized(This is due to the cam causing idle misfire codes). All 8 plugs had a nice even consistent color, which to me rules out a miss. The next time I go to the track I will bring the TR6's I pulled out and a new set to do some back to back testing.

It was nice to meet you guys as well. Hope the phones are taking it easy on both of you!

Every time I change my plugs my car goes faster. You just have to sprinkle them with pixie dust.
