compression I want to either add a supercharger or a turbocharger. Ive heard that you need a compression of about 8:1 for them to work efficiently. Is this true, and if so how would i lower my compression from 10.1:1 to 8:1

Some 6 liter heads will drop it to around 9:1. The CR does not have to be that low to run F/I, but generally the higher boost you use, the lower you'll want to make the CR (within limits, of course). Combine those heads with some thicker head gaskets and it'll lower a tad more, too. Look into using head studs if you're gonna boost it to hell and back. Take a look around the F/I forum, too. Lots of info there.

East coast supercharging runs 10.1 CR on their 700rwhp 9.75 sec car. The ATI works on 10.1-10.5 CR for the stock boost. If you are planning to go past 500rwhp you are going to have to do motor work anyway so swapping heads to the LQ9's would be the best move then.
