Thats an opinion Sharpe. I will respectfully disagree with you and leave it at that.

I was looking at the stage 3 heads. The patriot guy told me they would work? For the money i think they would be the better deal.

Patriot heads are MUCH nicer. Patriots also come with a flow sheet. My buddy put down 409 Na on a nitrous tuns and a dana60 with patriots and a fast. I don't even think TSP checks their **** before it ships

You don't need a stage 3 head. A 2.08 intake valve will be shouded on a stock bore and will not flow anywhere near the 320 that Patriot advertises. I would buy the stage 2 head from TSP. If you need to spend less buy the stage 1, it comes with a stock truck exhaust valve and makes consistant power. Due a search in the dyno section.

If your gonna go with a stock casting head you may want to look at Total engine airflow (another sponsor on this site) as well. It seems like their heads have good results.

Why would a stage one flow better than a stage 3 on a 383 stroker with everything else built? Thanks for all the advice

What's the ideal valve size on 243s? 2.02, 2.055, or 2.08?

Some of the better ones just use a 2.0".

LMAO that's the funniest thing I've read on LS1Tech all day! Have you ever even seen a PRC head next to a Patriot head? Ask anyone who's seen both brands next each other before posting something like that. To claim TSP doesn't check our stuff before shipping is just rediculous. Just because we don't send a generic flow sheet with every set of heads doesn't mean we don't check our parts. Take a few minutes & call SNL in Dallas, TX. They're a independent shop that has both brands of heads in their possession right now. Ask them who has better quality cnc work, flow characteristics & power output.

Just because PRC heads are priced similar to the cheap brands doesn't make them cheap at all.

To the OP: If you've got room on the credit card for it, my offer to you is this....Grab a pair of the PRC and a pair of the Patriots brand new. Take them to the machine shop you trust and who is familiar with CNC cylinder head work. Have them both inspected (have them check run-out, flow them, cc them, etc the works). If your machinist doesn't agree that the PRC's are the higher quality head, I'll refund you 100% including the shipping to you and back on the PRC's. Let me know if you're interested in seeing for yourself and making an educated decision

Thank you very much for the offer, but right now i am just intensely researching my next stage of the build. Which PRC/Patriot heads would you reccommend? I am trying to keep the heads below 1500 because i am buying a bunch of other stuff too. I have done quite a bit of business with texas-speed, i have always had good results.

I do not know a whole lot about heads but the prc heads you guys offer only have 230cfm? Do they all come with stainless valves?

remember also on a side note....flow is a great thing, but much more is thrown into how much power a head will make than peak flow....if that were the case...every company would just port out their castings as far as possible...point is flow is something you have to look at....but not everything when it comes to making power
