Eagle Crank GMPP Single Plane Intake
#3
I like the crank. Is that intake supposed to be for an fbody? Im having a hard time picturing the TB sitting on top of the intake and how that would work unless its carborated.

It's the new LS1 single plane carb intake from GMPP. It's not an SBC intake.
As for this is carb'd intake for one of the NASCAR classes, it's my understanding the GMPP single plane was created for this not the Edelbrock. The GMPP has/will shortly have an adapter plate to allow fuel pump, gear driven distrubetor up front & a new water pump. The GMPP is the true LS1 carb racing set up. Likewise, the GMPP single plane LS1 intake can also be used with port fuel injection. There is an ignition system coming for the engine what uses the stock crank sensor so a crank trigger & wheel aren't needed. BTW - my source on this is very solid.
This will also be an excellent way to set up an LS1 in an older car and skip the computer stuff. The high intake won't matter a bit in a 1st Gen Camaro.
The GMPP LS1 single plane is the new LS1 intake I mentioned several times over the last couple of months that was coming.
Note it also has bungs that can be drilled for port fuel injection so you could use a TB and the new ignition system with that uses the factory crank sensor. Of course direct port nitrous is very possible too...
I've seen the intake in person a good while back and it has lot's of metal that can be ported for that perfect match to the heads. It's very sweet and high quailty.
I had the chance to be the first or one of the very first with it but didn't have the cash for the Electromotive system/crank trigger that would have been required...but I'd love to put that in my 72 vette with a Holley on it...too bad I don't have the $$$ to do this...
I know it can be many different ways as it's been very well thought out.
Carb & gear driven factory distruber ie conventional set up with carb
Carb & crank trigger
TB and direct port fuel injection w/4 coil ignition system that uses the factory crank sensor...this is a custom GMPP set coming for this intake...likewise the Electromotive fuel management system could be used.
The bungs can be used for NOS or direct port
The intake can be extensively ported
I know what this intake did with an LS6 cam in a factory short block and all I can say is OMG!
The real question is who will be first with a 427, the GMPP intake, big solid roller & ported AFR heads and carb or TB direct port...and make 600+rwhp hell maybe even 700+rwhp...
FWIW - If a very serious board member wants to go all out with this intake and build the killer LS1/6 - PM me.
Colonel, PSJ, Nineball and all the other heavy hitters who wants to be the first with new killer carb'd LS1 set up?

This is it, I think
I'm very interested in this setup. I think this may be just the thing for my 67 Chevy II project. On the injection side, I think a Holley 950 setup would be awesome. Any place I can learn more about the ignition side?
thanks,
John Parsons

The adapter for the distruber isn't out yet but it should be soon - early next year as I understand it. I'm not aware of an online source for info on this at the moment.
I don't think there is anything online yet about the GMPP ignition system as it's not quite out yet...but here a link to the Electromotive one.

Yeah I was pretty excited to see that. It's going to make one hell of a flat TQ cruve too. Should be interesting to see something like that in older cars. A big 4150 on top of that with some bas *** AFR's and even throw in that Eagle crank to make a old school 383. Hey that sounds like something I want in my 64 GTO!

i just looked at the TPIS one, they did the same supup, but they didnt maintain anything using fuel management system . if you use the lower intake and a 4 barrel TB on top with fuel injection using the factory or aftermarket rails , i think it will work using the factory fuel management system ,RIGHT.
please correct me if i am wrong
