Unhappy oil pump pressure???

Who knows what PSI does the ls1 work at. I reed 6psi@1000 rpm / 24psi@4000 rpm. from factory. Sounds wrong to me. Could this be possible?

http://www.holdenls1.com/index39.html

I think the holdens are the same LS1's as us.
Oil Pressure ( Minimum- Hot)
41kPa at 1,000 engine Rpm
(6lbs)

124kPa at 2,000 engine Rpm
(17) lbs

165kPa at 4,000 engine Rpm
(23 lbs)

I was quoted from another LS1 enthusiast that per the GM manual on Lsx motors 7lbs for every 1000 rpm but i never verified this myself but sounds about right!

I was always told 10psi for every 1000RPM is a good safe pressure.

The 10psi is certainly safe enuff but is an older rule of thumb that is not applicable to LS1s in general but obviously if a LS1 was making 10psi for every 1000 rpm it would be MORE than good to go!

Mine at idle/warm is about 48psi, and at 85mph it's at 60psi; same thing at WOT. 60psi max is all that you really need in this engine. If you feel for some reason that you need more, then I would go with an oil cooler and related oil system enhancements. You can really get away with having oil pressure down as low as 50psi, but you'd be chancing it if something decides to hiccup. I wouldn't go any lower than 53-55psi at WOT.

I love my oil cooler and dual remote oil filters......it moved me from ~5.5 quarts all the way up to 8 quarts and even in the 115degree summer heat with the AC on the oil temp almost never goes above 185 and the water stays right at 195-200. Now that winter (65-70 degree days) has come on, the oil NEVER gets above 160 (the problem is actually getting it heated up).
