Default LS6 Conversion Kits

Was wondering if anyone had purchased a LS6 conversion kit like the one on paceparts.cm
http://www.paceparts.com/product.asp?0=0&1=0&3=166901

At the end of the day for someone who really wants to sacrifice extremely little in the way of drivability, idle, and emissions issues, is this at all worthwhile. I don't exactly have money burning a hole in my pocket with x-mas, and just bought some new wheels for the car, but anyways, one of my future plans for this car is a modest performance increase. Bang for the buck is not really an issue, I guess I am wonder what the bang would be. Haven't been to track yet, but say my completely stock car (execption have cat-back), traps 102-105, would after this converstion + a lid, get me say 109-112 traps or not even close. Thanks in advance for your thoughts.
Regards,

Regards,
I will be doing a heads and cam this winter but I first did gears then TQ CONV.
SHIFT KIT MINE IS AN AUTO.
Next came the headers Stainless works
All this made a big difference and now it is ready for more.
I am using 5.3 heads from TEA stage 1.5 ( See Brent) but LS6 HEADS are available for about the same price. My cam is a Reverse split 224-581 112 lsa with 0 advance smaller on the exhaust
Get a cam that will behave the way you want it to.
Do your research on all the cam posts on here and other forums.
Good Luck
John

I think you can do much better for about the same cost as the converstion kit.

LPE's GT2-3 cam will make more power than the LS6 but will idle and drive just as well since it's on a 118.5 LSA. Likewise Patriot offers a ported LS6 style head that is equal or better to the converstion package LS6 ported head that only cost a few hundred more than the LS6 heads. TEA has 1.5's that will do an excellent job too for way less than the ported LS6's in the package.

Consider all the options before spending the $$$

AFR heads will only cost about $1650 in base form only $400 more than the Pace heads.

you can have more power, great driveablity (with tune), and pass smog with a better setup. look into some PP 5.3's and a tr 224 114 cam.

Default ls6 kit

You can do way better for less or same money. Go with Lingenfelter gt2-3 cam.
Also a set of ls1 ported and polished heads will flow better than stock ls6. TSP
lid and a tq converter.

Personally I'm not a fan of any of the LS6 conversions. My friend has it on his 02 M6 Z28 and put down 359RWHP. As far as how it performs at the track, I'm not too sure.

If it were me I would look into a different cam and different heads.
