Default Help with cam choice

I've been reading alot about cams and asked the question in the past, but think I found the cam I would want. People were suggesting a 224/228 cam, but I hear people usually only get 370-380 on those cams. I also really want to retain a nice torque curve, so I started reading into reverse split cams. I decided on a Thunder racing 227/224 .569/.563 114 LSA cam in terms of what I think I want but I'd like to check here first. I want to put down close to 400whp, trying to run mid-high 11's, with good power under the curve, and something decently streetable. The car is m6, and currently has bbk 80mm tb, lid, catback, 3.73's, ls6 intake(I know it came stock on my year, some people suggest I need to get one though so I assume they dont know it comes stock), longtubes with ory, tr55's, and running on ET streets. Think my cam choice will be good enough to meet my goals for power, times, etc?I'll be buying the cam kit with the patriot dual gold's, 7.4 pushrods, titanium retainers, etc. Also going to buy an ls2 timing chain, is there anything else I will need aside from a tune to safely run the cam? thanks!

Rob, Thats a good choice for cam... You have 241 heads, so you should make more power then me. If you want a little more power down low, try a 112 LSA or so.

I would also go with a oil pump while your there, Ported LS6, Melling, ect.

While you're there, put in an Underdrive Pulley

I have that cam's sister - the 230/224. Beautiful curve AND higher peaks than any other cam-only dyno I've every seen. Pretty much same mods as you - 241 heads, LS6 intake, LT headers, no UD pulley. My clutch is a lightweight unit, but on a dyno that's offset by the 52lb-each rear wheel/tires I run (18x10.5 w/ 25.5x12-18 Goodyear slicks). Should be about the same rotational weight as you with the LS7 clutch and 17x9.5s w/ ET streets.
