Default Question on large diameter valve springs

I have the X1, MTI cam, and want to go with the larger diameter, dual springs. Lift is .609/.588 and I assume the ramps are agreesive.

Crane has a spring that will give 133# seat and 388# open -P/N 99893- anyone using these...or how about a better reccomendation

Default Re: Question on large diameter valve springs

390 open may be too much for the stock lifters. I beleive most places use the Comp 987's, or 978's, depending on the length of your valves. Maybe shooting for 330-350 open pressure would be better.

Thunder racing carries those springs and I've used 987's on 2 sets of LS1 heads so far. As long as the height is set up right and your valvetrain isn't ultra heavy they work great.
