Default Head work

I just picked up a set of heads, now I am planning on having some work done but need some advice. I want to have them shaved. I was told that the max i can shave them is 0.060 but that would required race gace. Is there truth to this? What would my compression ratio be for having them shaved? What is a safe CR for pump gas? My last issue is changing the heads inside the car, is it possible and much of a pain in the a$$ is it? Are there any special tools required for the job? I think that sums up all my questions. Any help would be great so thanks in advance.

they are stock 853 heads. As well as the engine is all stock, as far as i know. I just bought the car a month ago. The person who owned it before me put a ton of cash into the car, but i dont know if the cam was changed. I am just wondering how much can be safely taken off the head with the stock bottum end.

no one will be able to give you an accurate guess without knowing the valve events. safest way is to measure what ptv you have and see exactly how much you can mill. with that being said i wouldn't bother milling stock heads

It would also be a lot more beneficial to sell the 853 heads for scrap and get some 243 heads with a good valve job. The 243 heads have a smaller combustion chamber so that will bump your compression ratio with no milling.
