Default Powerbond Underdrive Pully and LS2 timing chain

I am getting ready to do a cam swap in my car, and I have seen some people mention that if you use a LS2 timing chain that you have to have to take off some of the snout like .300. Well I am wanting to know if this is true. If its to much hassle I guess I could just put on a new LS1 chain. If any one can confirm this question it would be great, and maybe explain why you would have to have the pully ground down.

Get the new kit from a guy on here named "Yank". He sells new LS1 sprockets with an adjustable cam gear and the LS2 chain for around $82 shipped. You will need an adjustable timing set to degree your cam anyways. No you do not have to machine anything, fits like stock. Should put new sprockets on with a new chain on a higher mileage engine, as they wear together.

The LS2 chain uses the stock pulleys. The Powerbond is a direct swap. Never heard of this however there are some double chains that do require the pulley hub to be machined. Not sure where you got this information but it appears to be in error. I installed a Powerbond on a friends 04 Vette with the LS2 chain without any issues.

I have the LS2 chain and powerbind pulley everything fits fine no issues. Who ever told you that you have to grind something down is not someone you should talk to again.

No issues either, Powerbond pulley and LS2 chain here as well. Now, the only problem you may have is getting the Powerbond back on the snout. I had to use a buddys pulley install tool to get it to seat on the snout, I tried heating it in the oven, but they barely allowed me to even get it on. A install tool is a must and will make the install a 5 min job. There was one for sale in the classifieds if you need one.

LS2 sprockets and chain and powerbond will fit perfect together. Cant believe everything you hear and there's no harm in asking either

If you don't have the installation tool, make or buy one. Don't use a bolt.
