LS1 Advice
LS1 Advice So i had to pull the top end of my motor apart because of a hung lifter and with 114k i decided to pull the motor and do a rebuild also. I want to put a set of heads on it and was thinking about some LS6 patriot heads. I was just wondering if anyone has a similar setup or what you think i could goin by going to these heads. My cam is a Thunder racing custom grind 233/236 .648 .601 with a 111.6 lsa I have a 3600 stall with 3:73 gears. Im thinking about going to a 4k stall. Thank you for any help you can give.
Patriot, TEA, Texas Speed, Tick Performance, VA Speed, and I'm sure some other prominent sponsors on here will all offer a ported LS6 head that's similar in flow and quality of parts. Some may have a more updated port design, but talk to the ones nearest you or that you already know and go with the one you trust the most. This is just a factory casting and if you're comparing vendors all with proven CNC port programs you really can't go wrong here.
I will add that if this is mostly a street car where driveability is a big concern, you may consider a ported 5.3 head instead as the ports are smaller than the LS6 and offer a little more low end.

Thanks for the advice ill look into the 5.3 heads. Yes this is a street driven car buy not a daily driver maybe once or twice a week depending on the weather. Any more help?
