Degreeing Cam??????? Please help!
Thanks
What you should do is retard the cam 4 degrees so that it is truely 'straight up' & not just dot-to-dot.
Degreeing the cam takes a degree wheel & a dial indicator with a way of mounting it.....& a piston stop so you can find TDC on the #1 piston. After degreeing in a few LS1 cams using Rollmaster 9-keyway chains I would advise EVERYBODY that has one of these chains to degree in the cam as it is very easy to install the cam incorrectly which could be a fatal mistake.
Proper valve events for that cam (as ground on a 110ICL):
Intake valve open: 2 BTDC
Intake valve close: 42 ABDC
Exhaust valve open: 50 BBDC
Exhaust valve close: 6 BTDC
My advise is to install it on a 114ICL for these valve events:
IVO: 2 ATDC
IVC: 46 ABDC
EVO: 46 BBDC
EVC: 2 BTDC
Check out Compcams & Cranecams websites for instructions on degreeing a camshaft.

You have to have the card for the cam you are degreeing in.
The #'s change for different grinds.
Only use the card the cam came with.
