How Fast Can You Spin A LS1

How Fast Can You Spin A LS1 So recently I have been getting cam fever again. I would like to do a swap to a big cam. Car is just a weekend warrior so cam size doesn't matter to much. However a lot of the cams I am looking at are saying max RPM is 6500 for the cam. I know I can up the RPM to 6500 without a problem but I am curious to how fast you guys run these motors on a stock bottom end? What will the stock bearings take before they take a dump? Also the car has 92XXX miles so I need to watch that a little.
99 has the same weak rodbolts as my 98 so I chose my cam to peak around 6500. That is as comfortable spinning w/o a rod bolt upgradade as I wanted to go...The problem is not the bearings but the rod bolts stretch and causes the the bearings to spin...

Personally, I turned my stock bottom end car (02 model so it had the better rod bolts) pretty hard for close to 20k and never had an issue. Actual shifts occurred at about 6900. Prior to that rpm, I had the limiter set to 7100 trying different shift points at the track.
A buddy of mine turned his 00 bottom end car (weaker rod bolts) to 6800 for around 10k with no issue either.

The 2000 and older motors redline at 6000 with a 6250 rev limiter. The 01+ redline at 6500 with a ~6700 rev limiter (Z06's). With a warranty covering this in a car designed to be driven hard, it's pretty safe to say the 01+ motors are good for 7000, maybe 7200 and the pre 01 motors can still handle 6500, 6800.
It's worth mentioning that alot of guys with stock 2 bolt head/cam LT1's wind theirs to 6500+ without causing problems. If those 2 bolt motors with heavier pistons and weaker rods (and probably bolts) can handle this, any LS1 certainly could.

In 01 the rod bolts that came with the newly introduced LS6 were also used in the LS1 cars, but ONLY the Z06 got a bump in the rev limiter because it needed it with the better flowing heads and larger cam shaft. Also, the stock fuel cutoff for an LS6 is 6600.
