Default 241 p&p heads flow data

Im buying a set of 241 heads that have been ported and polished, race cutter valve job, milled .004, cleaned and tested, they flow 270 and should be right around 68cc, how much of a gain can i expect to get out of these versus stock? Is it worth buying the comp 918s or is swapping my stock ones ok, currently i have full boltons and made 354,375 what do you guys think?

I'd guess maybe 20hp alone from the head swap. It would be a good idea to go with some new springs while the heads are off and might as well go with a new cam too, you're already in there doin the head swap so go for it.

Put a thinner head gasket while your there as well to tighter up your quench and raise your comppression a little too. I run TEA stage 1 241 heads milled 0.030 with a cometic 0.040 head gasket.

ya that was the only thing that worried me, was that in the ad it says they were milled by .04 which would make them somewhere around 68cc, the stock 241 head i believe is at 66.67 so i dont see how their somewhere around 68.

i thought about 243s but just alittle out of budget, but if your in that price range you might want to think about 5.3s done right they should out flow 243s.

With .040" milled off them they should be in the 61cc range and bump you up to around 11:1 compression. I am running the 241s ported, polished and .037" milled off them... You definately notice a difference

^^^

The 243s will out flow and out perform 241s even if the work is different. My first heads where 241s. I spend over $1K on them actually $1500 on them and I when I switched over to my 243s ($1085) I saw how much I left on the table with the 241s. 241s can make power but there comes a time when 243s will need to be a serious thought. If you can hold off and buy 243s it will save you some money in the long run.

I agree 100%, I got lucky and had all the tools (including the milling tools) so all mine cost me was a set of head gaskets and a cold sore hand after about 5 hours of grinding and polishing lol

I have AFRs and sheetmetal intake on my wish list... I just need the free time to do alittle more research and then build the intake myself
