Default Serious Idle Surge Problem

Hey Guys.

I have a 2002 Camaro Z28 5.7 6-speed MT

I searched the forum, but everything I found pertains to surging when the car is sitting still. When sitting still, my car does fine. When driving, if you push the clutch in, or put it in neutral while driving, particularity if accelerating down a hill, the idle will surge as high as 3,000 rpms.

Because of the nature of this car I usually take it to a repair shop, but recent changes have forced me to take a 'DIY' approach with this problem.

Does anyone have any advice as to where to start?

Thanks.

Your going to have to give some idea of modifications to the car, is it a custom tune, have you changed anything recently?

Sorry,

The car is stock except for a lid. I haven't changed anything recently. The only recent change is the cold weather here.

Vacuum leak possibly, check intake manifold and lines. Clogged air filter, blocked PCV, fucked up EGR. Could be several things, but check for a vacuum leak first.

i've had my idle surge before or just idle high only when in motion. It was the intake hose where it connects to the throttle body.It wasn't on all the way on the bottom where i could'nt see.

Clean your MAF. A can on MAF cleaner is about $5.00
