flycutting?
i was just curious if anybody knows how much of a bitch this is to do? i have ptv clearence issues with my 59cc heads and want a big cam also so thats why im wondering. I figured flycutting would be the way to go rather than buying new heads for the bigger cam(budget and hp wise)? thanks

You can damage your heads if you aren't careful if you chose to do it yourself. Best way to do it is to have a set of junk heads to put on and just rent the tool from a sponsor or a local shop. That was how I did it with 59cc and 244/248 cam. Did you already eyelash your pistons with your valves? Or are you just taking a precaution before you crush the top end and or drop a valve and just annihilate your block and rotating assembly? What kind of reliefs are you wanting/trying to do? -2cc -4cc? What cam are you wanting to run? Yes its a bitch if you dont have the first clue as to what you are doing. No its not if you have done it before. Worst part is taking it all off. Material removal is the easiest in my opinion. I used the tape method.

lots of questions...well basically i have the patriot stage 2 59cc heads, and patriot said that the biggest cam i can fit right now would be like a 228/228 590/590 and im looking for something along the lines of 235/240 600/600(give or take) so far as all of the questions you asked im not really sure, i have a general idea of ls1's but your questions are a little over my head to be honest, basically i just dont want to nuke my motor.
