Default Oil dipstick measurements...

Not quite sure where to ask this, but Can somebody measure the part of the dipstick that acually goes into the block. Im not sure if i broke some of it off or not, but it seems like im getting a hell of a oil leak at high rpms.

Thanks

Unless you are missing an extremely large portion of your dipstick or it is not staying in the block I think your leak is else where.

Well the LS1 are known for taking down a good amount of oil, especially in the upper RPMs.

Its leaking from around there, not the gasket, so that leaves the dipstick, and its seems to be coming from there. as you can figure, its hard to tell when it only does it under WOT apparently. Its not an oil consumption issue, just a leak.

Is the o-ring missing from the dipstick?

Original one was lost when I did a header swap, I replaced it with another oring. After the cam swap is when I noticed the more substantial oil leak, so I did check that first and sure enough the oring was busted, so replaced it and ive still got a leak. When I took it back out, it was oily as hell. When you unbolt the tube from the head, its really really wobbly, so im thinking maybe some of it is broken off
