I have a 99 trans am ws6. Does anyone know how to take off those two tabs from the baffle? If installing a new air filter lid with the connection going from that to the intake do I need to reconnect that wire that I took a picture of?

 

is this question in the wrong area? I don't want to remove my MAF sensor if it's going to cause problems but with the new lid it wont' fit into the black baffle because it's oval and not round.

 

You're talking about the intake air temp sensor. You'll need to reconnect the wire. The tabs should unbolt off the car. Did you buy the right intake lid because it should be round and not oval? Did the kit come with an adaptor to fit the lid to the MAF? An oval sounds more of what an LT1 intake would require.
