Difference btw GTO and Vette LS1 How do you explain the power/torque diff from these same engines?
Different camshafts or intakes?

Well for one thing your comparing an early LS1 (pre `01) to the last LS1.
It's pretty common knowlede that all LS1's from `01 -04 are identical save for differences of oilpans and intake /exhaust tracks. The `00 Vette engine has a different cam and an LS1 intake, where as the `04 has the LS6 intake.
