Here's kind of a head scratcher.....
I have a 5.3 with Lloyd Elliot ported heads. This is a custom truck application. The truck is going to be a daily driver and perform some light towing. The motor has a carb/MSD 6010 on it at the moment for break-in purposes only. After break in, it's going propane. It is backed by a 700R4 built for truck duty. It has a low stall converter...pretty much a factory stall. I've got a 3:73 gear and 18" X 10" rims with low profile tires. Vehicle weight is approximately 4200 lbs. Initially, I wanted to use an early Z06 cam (duration 204/211 valve lift 0.525/.0525) but now I'm wonder if the later Z06 cam (204/218 @ .050" .550/.550) would be a better cam. I don't want to change convertors. Both cams are propane compatible.
That's the long of it. The short of it is "can I run a later Z06 cam with a stock converter in a 4200 lb truck?".
