5.3 oil pressure I have a 60k mile 5.3 pullout that i put in my 89 s-10 pickup. we took the top end off. had the heads ported. had the oil pan shortened and pickup tube also. there was a bunch of sludge in the motor and we got out alot. I put a 224 cam in and went carb'd. Well once we got it together it has like 30 pounds of pressure at idle which im cool with. but when you first go and drive it on fresh oil change the oil pressure goes right up as you drive it like its supposed too but after a few times driving it(takes longer each time you change the oil) the oil pressure stays at 25-30. then when you change it goes back to normal. It makes no noises and runs great. Do you think it is the oil filter clogging up or something else? the gauge is an autometer electric i havent put a mechanical gauge on yet
