Default What is this ground stud too.

I just got done doing a heads swap, I swear up and down (as many of us do) that I tightened this stud. The stud I am refering to is the one that is on the Drivers side head on the backside. It was lose damn near came off. What does it ground. Is it the knock sensor ground?
