Default Cam Swap

I am getting ready to change out the cam in my LS1. I need to know if I need shorter push rods. This is the comp cam I am using-RPM range: 2,000 to 7,000 rpm. Duration at .050" lift: 224/230 (int/exh) Valve lift with 1.7 rockers: .581"/.588" (int/exh). You input would be greatly appreciated.

If your heads haven't been milled then you shouldn't need shorter pushrods. If your cam doesn't have a smaller base circle than stock, you shouldn't need longer pushrods. A pushrod length checker is cheap insurance in any case.

Whoever ground/sells the cam (Comp) would be able to tell you a whole lot more than most people here.

Comp will be able to tell you if the base circle is smaller or not, and just like ^ said, as long as the heads arent milled than they shouldnt need to be shorter.

measure to be safe. The checker is like $20.00 bux. I bought one, would let you borrow if you were closer. I don't see why shorter though, you never mentioned the heads being touched, just the cam. Usually the base circle is smaller, which would lead to a longer rod. Also, sometimes, depending on the cam grind, lifter preload preference, and manufacturer, sometimes to have it 100% perfect, you may need (2) different size lengths for intake and exhaust. I know that should be the case of my MS4, but thats a much different cam.
