hey there i got a ? i want to ask i just did heads and cam install on my 98z with mac headders off road pipe all my mods are in sig, i whent too the ls6 intake allso, after the heads and cam install if i let car idl for a while it will smoke some looks like oil smoke but dont smell like it smells like raw gass, and iv noticed that it is useing some oil now and before all this it didnt the computer was mail tuned by TSP and runs great for mail tune hope ot get a dyno tunn soon, i dont know if it useign the oil threw the pcv system or not thinking about making my own catch can for ittoo see, if it was whould this cause it to smoke some? all so terry at PP heads is sending me the new valve seals he uses now cause iv had my heads for a while and just recently got them put on i didnt ask for new ones he inseted to send them he is a top notch guy and great ot talk too and has whent out his way to answer all my ? and the guys at TSP are great and hooked me up with a great combo im happy with, now if i chould only get traction, but im just cureus about the smokeing and oil usage after all the mods, as it didnt do it before them thanks

how long ago did you install the stuff? smoking right after intial startup is normal since the engine heat is burning off all the coolant and oil that was spilled in in the bay. running no cats will increase the fume smell as well.

 

been running it for about 2 weeks now and 1500 miles, and had ot add half qurt of oil, where before i didnt have too at all

 

can you pin point the oil consumption; like whether is comming through the intake or if your piston rings are wearing out? do a leak down test and see. install a catch can while your at since there pretty simple to do.

 

not sure i wana say maybe threw the intake and pcv so im goign ot make my own catch can out of some fittings and pvc pipe, i took my tb off and seen some oil in there so im hoping thats the reason it is cause i guess it it was it whould cause some smoke since it burnning oil threw intake, it might be rings cause i have 127,000 miles plus on it drove everday and not easy miles at that, but before heads and cam and evreything else it never smoked or used oil, so if it is a little threw the rings i cant complain too much but i hope its not as i wont have my 408 done till after summer, all so thinking my valve seals terry sending me some better ones to try out all so maybe that, like i said i got my heads before he started useing the better seals and he insted ot send them too me, why i whent with pp heads he all ways took time too answer all my ? and custemer service is important ot me,

you think the ls6 vally pan and new pcv for the newer f-bodys whould help?
