Engine knocking on cold starts....?

Engine knocking on cold starts....? I have owned my 98 Z28 since last march (09) and I did not notice any noises or knocking until about december when it got really cold outside. Long story short, every time I start it up when its below freezing, and for the first time of the day, I hear a knocking noise coming from the engine that usually goes away after about 30 seconds. It sounds like oil is not getting all the way through the motor right away. Any one else have this same issue? Thanks for any suggestions

It really don't matter what the climate is... LS engines are known to knock on cold starts, wheather it's 80 or 20 outside. It's called "piston slap" and it's normal, long as it goes away when the engine comes up to temp.
