Default 317 vs stock heads

i am just throwing around some ideas, i have a 228/232 cam with bolt-ons. i was wondering if it would be worth it to switch to some milled 317 heads. how much power would i be looking to gain? i can find heads for around 200 and a buddy owns a machine shop. do you think it would be worth the swap or would the money be better spent elsewhere?

Unless your looking for some type of FI the 317s are not the way to go. They have 72CC chambers. Now if your running a larger cubed block yeah but with an LS1/LS6 not such a good idea.

if milling them to less than the current heads chamber cc for raised compression and some port work and/or blending would be had for free or around 100$ then I say go for it maybe 15-20 rwhp there
