Yep, I can't wait until those aluminum 4.00" bore blocks hit the market. That, with the cheap Eagle crank kits, will make us some 408ci engines for less than $2500 total

Wouldn't a 4.00x3.62 motor be bigger than 346.9 CI?

uhh,

a 3.46" stroke and a 4" bore would make it a 6L and 364 CID. slippy fingers maybe??

still VERY cool, but how accurate is this information?

I wonder what over bore the new 4.0 aluminum blocks will be able to take. Seems like GM might think ahead and use sleeves that can take up to 4.125 the later 427 that's rumored.

There is some discussion that the heads may be swappable as you mention, but there seems to be some thought the LS2 offers some sort of variable valve timing. This would be done in the block and would most likely mean many sensors and such are relocated within the block, possibly meaning the new 6.0L LS2 blocks cannot swap for earlier LS1/LS6 blocks. Guess we will know a lot more on Jan 4th.

Guys I honestly do not think this 3 valve stuff is going to be a revolution. This technology has been around a long time, and I dont think the gains will be as significant as you might think. I am willing to bet there will not be more than 20 CFM between a good stage 2 LS6 head and a good version of the new 3V setup. For the extra valvetrain mass and the extra parts the 3V heads alone are not going to be worth the change. If they couple it to VVT it might be a differnt story. All IMHO.
