Ticking noise is it a lifter?
Ticking noise is it a lifter? I had a ticking noise under the valve cover and found several bent push rods. I replaced the rods but I still had a ticking noise so I took the valve covers off and discover that one lifter is spitting oil out not flowing out like the others. I watched it for while and no matter if I loosened the rocker arm or not it still flowed different from all the others. I figure it is just the one lifter making this ticking sound even though its pumping or could it be the cam? The "problem lifter" is where I found one of the bad bent rods. I am no pro just trying to figure this out on my own instead of taking it some where I find that the most satisfying way to do things. If you need any other info let me know Ill tell you what I can. I am pretty new to the LS1.
last time i checked under my valve covers, im pretty sure i didnt see the lifters. 
anyway i havent see a lifter go bad from a bent push rod but it may happen. mine ticks and its not piston slap. not sure what it is but have no bent push rods so im guessing a lifter or the oil pump proplem the gm has a tsb out on said something about a ring goes bad and sounds like a lifter.

I have a noise that sounds like a lifter, but I can not find the source. The engine is a low mile 02 LS6, and I assembled it from the short block. Tell me more about this ring/ oil pump TSB please. Also, any other opinions would be appreciated.
