Default Has my engine been replaced?

Recently I bought a 98' Camaro Z/28 and I have been catching up on some basic maintenance the car is in need of. While I was working under the hood I noticed I have center bolt valve covers, while I've read that 98' cars should have perimeter bolt valve covers. So I did a search on here to figure out what type of cylinder heads are on the car, and the heads are marked 241. Well, the passenger side is at least. How can I determine if this is the engine the car came with? I am thinking it has been replaced at some point in the past.

I also decoded the vin number on compnine.com and found the build date of the car to be December of 1997.

The previous owner was the second owner from what I was able to gather, he owned it for about 10 months and just drove it daily. The first owner probably made the modifications to the car, those being a volant intake and cat back exhaust. Everything else appears to have been left alone. Currently the car only has 82k miles.

idk why the heads would have been replaced unless they are milled or p/p or both

Is there another casting number or visual difference I can look for to figure out if this is the correct engine?

On the drivers side head... look on the front corner of the top of the head. THere should be a three digit casting # on the head... 241 or 243 or 317 or yada, yada. That will help narrow it down.
