My 317's are ported/polished, stainless valves, dual springs, and titanium retainers. I see 10#'s of boost max right now, should be in the 14-15 #'s with the pully swaping.

We are not distribution centers for another builder's shortblocks. We both use the same elite machine shop (one of THE top machine shops in the country) but that is the only connections. The machine shop prepares and assembles our shortblocks to our individually supplied specs with our supplied parts. We do not buy and resell another shop's shortblocks as our own, we have our own custom shortblocks assembled by one of the best machine shops in the country in order to provide the best possible product to our customers.

what compression ratio are you running and what pistons?

Mahle pistons with -4cc relief. Compression is around 9.4:1

Never bought a motor from them, but what I have bought from them I have loved! Good prices and service if you go about it the right way!

Default 408 Sledgehammer

Not sure where it is going to go yet but will share my experience so far. Bought their 408 Sledghammer short block. Builder got it installed. Did break in run. Started the tune process. Started having a clatter. Shut everything down. Tore down motor. Found cam bearing failed. These are bearings installed at Texas Speed. It is a Texas Speed cam as well. The engine didn't make it to actually doing dyno pulls before failure. Less than 2hrs of run time. Called Texas Speed and was told that they will not warranty a bearing failure. I sent them email after we found it was indeed the cam bearing and waiting for reply. Hoping they will make it right but skeptical. We will see. Will keep everyone up to date.

Good luck....they already got your money. I'm rebuilding a texas speed darton sleeved 427 that they screwed up on the build. Was line honed crooked, the darton sleeves was notched for the rods, with what looks like a dremel and a punch. Bore looks to have been done with a dingle ball hone.
