317's or 241's? which is the better head?
317's or 241's? which is the better head? I have an lq4 and looking for a cam, would i get better performance from the 317 heads already on the lq4 or the 241's off my ls1? I have lt's, 3600 stall, 3.73 gears and all freemods. Any suggestions on cam and head combo? Looking for 430-450 and will be driven almost everyday less than 20 miles.
317's are basically ls6 heads with a bigger chamber. If you shave the 317's down you will have a better head than a 241 head. Cam choice is up to you. Do you want a radical idle that will run like a bat out of hell but is hard to drive around town or do you want something that will have good street manners? There are plenty of cams out there you just have to decide how yoou will use the car.
By the way 241's are not bad heads. My buddy has gone 10.50's on them with a 150 shot on a stock bottom end.
