Default engine builders step in

i'm building a forged 383 with 3.905 dish top pistons. i'm going with dish top because i want to lower the compression down to 10.1. so my question is what is the formula to figure out which dishtops i'll need. i spoke with thunder racing today and they said -10 to -12cc should put me in the 10.1 area i want to be in, i just want to double check but if this is true i'll know what to tell the shop to send me. btw the heads going on will be stage 2 LS6 heads.

thanks in advance

i'll have to call west coast cylinder head tomorrow . . . all i remember is that it started with a 6 lol yeah i'm feeling stupid for not writing it down. like i said above i'm thinking i should send the heads off right now since i have the money so i have the correct flow numbers to make the right piston decision

Edit: i'm going to ship off the heads next week and get those numbers and then i can go from there to pick the right pistons

Gotcha, shouldve been around 8.5-9:1 for "high boost" IMO.

Good luck with the combo

with stage 2 LS6 heads at 66cc, 224/236 F/I cam from thunderracing, the 383 with those dishtop pistons at -12cc at 10 PSI i'm hoping to be in the area of 600rwhp . . . the only reason i'm "guessing" the number is because nobody else in the country has this blower on their f-body except the company doin the install right now to test it. the test 02 T/A with LT's and this blower at 10PSI made a little over 500rwhp with stock 241 heads and the stock cam

thanks man
