Default Shimming valve springs?

Got texas speed 233/239 .585/.601,comp 918s, 7.4 comp pushrods,stock retainers . Would i need to shim the springs? Tried searching couldnt find anything on this

Need to check your installed height and check spring pressure at that height. Usually they are a drop in deal though.

I wouldn't run that lift with 918s. I'm more of an overly cautious guy, but with the horror stories of the 'old batch' of springs I wouldn't consider running a 918 on anything over .590. Technically you are barely over their 'limit' so measuring and shimming would be pretty much a requirement. If it were something like TSPs PRC beehives rated at .650 I'd say just drop them in. I tend to lean more towards the safe side though, I like knowing I've got more than enough spring as opposed to 'just enough'.

With any valve spring you should check installed height and measure retainer to seal distance. The figure out your lift capability from the coil bind height. The rated lift doesn't really mean much, you need to figure out each installation.

The new 918's are good to .625 IIRC but they still need to be set up correctly....
