my friends car is having a problem. the recently has had an intermitting rough idle. i pulled all the plugs and they were all black so i cleaned them and it did not solve the problem. there is no 02 error code. but there is the following codes

bank1 and bank2 are 2 lean
mis fire
and its says that fuel bank 2 is shifted lean!!

what could cause all of this!!!

I have had a problem with my MAF getting oily from the K&N on one of my cars. Used to give me lean codes. cleaned it and put a paper filter in and the problem went away. Can't help you with misfires. Does it tell which one or is it giving you codes for all of them?

Were the plugs gapped to spec? How did the plug wires look?

If you go through the trouble of pulling all the plugs, I don't see why you wouldn't replace them...

E plugs were changes to the ngk tr55 plugs like 2months ago. I will check the maf because he has had the k&n air filter in the car for also about a month. What do u recommend cleaning the maf sensor with?

They sell a MAF cleaner in a spray can. also check and make sure all the hose clamps for the intake are tight. That could cause a lean code too.
